    My review:When I read the blurb of Snowy Fate and saw the cover, I was very curious about this novella. I think the cover of the novella is absolutely beautiful! Since the story is very short, only 26 pages, it was a very quick and easy read. The blurb built up for something interesting and intrigues, but unfortunately the blurb was better than the novella. The idea of the narrative and the potential of the story are existent, but there was not enough story building, development and not enough information about the characters, so the result was a story which was not convincing. Aspyn arrives to her deceased father’s house and finds his father’s diary and a naked man in the house. Damon convinces her to read the diary to find out that she is a shape shifter and his mate.That was basically the whole story. I would have loved to see more background story, stories about the two characters in the book, character building. Unfortunately that was not the case. The emotions did not come out clearly, the fact why Aspyn mated with Damon was not clear. As said the blurb was interesting, but the novella itself was emotionless, with not understandable characters.I am very sorry to say, but it seemed that the idea was good, but writing was raw with spelling mistakes and not good at all, characters were nonexistent , their objectives not understandable. It was a story of guy meeting a girl, getting mated and living happily ever after without any explanation how, why, with what purpose?1 star.

    This is a short Novella that you can devour in one quick sitting. I would suggest this book to people that want a cute short story. I enjoyed it, but it was a bit short for me. I don't normally read novellas for this reason, especially when I like the storyline and characters like I did here, because I always want more! My only complaint here is that I wish the story was longer. (I think it took me under an hour to read)Aspyn is a good character, but she gave into Damon a little fast in my opinion. She seems like a strong person and I couldn't really get on board with her accepting everything that was thrown at her within the first few hours of knowing this guy. I did however, see where she was coming from. She was feeling some really strong things for Damon and I guess I can see what she did what she did. But it just seemed a little rushed for me. It's not rushed at all for a novella but again, I am used to full length books. (That is the problem with ebooks sometimes, you can't always tell how long they are- and I like to get some idea of length when I go about judging the pacing of the book) Overall, the story is interesting and I enjoyed reading it. For the length of the book, the plot did not feel rushed. I mean, things flowed at the same rate throughout but when considering other books, it all felt a little fast for me. But that is what the book is- it is just a cute short story about two people. And if that is what you are looking for, I think you might enjoy Snowy Fate.

    A short, interesting story of a young woman that has yet to understand who she really is, why her father left her and her mother when she was a little girl and why he stood away for as long as he did. She’s always thought it was her fault he left them and ended up growing to hate him because of it. Not seeing or hearing anything from or about him until his death, she’s now finding out many truths that seem unreal to her and just wants to leave the house her father has left for her in his will. But she's stuck because of a heavy snow storm.Damon is a shifter, a mountain lion to be exact. He is aware of Aspyn and he knows a lot about her. He also has to share his secret with her as we all the fact that they are mates and he wants to help her through her hard time, protect her and be everything she wants in a man (mate).Together they work out all of the truths about her father, herself and Damon’s secret. After all, you cannot mess with fate!I enjoyed the story and I know it’s a short story but I felt as though it was incomplete. It went by way too fast and did not contain enough background information and character descriptions on both Damon and Aspyn for me to truly get into. I have read a couple of other works from Marissa Dobson and know she’s wonderfully capable of a completely satisfying short, paranormal or not. Anyone looking for a quick paranormal read and does not need more background information will fully enjoy Snowy Fate :)

    Li “Snowy Fate” a 24 de Janeiro de 2012 e atribuo-lhe duas estrelas. Odeio dar menos de três estrelas, porque considero que isso é desvalorizar o trabalho de um autor, porém tenho que ser coerente: se dei duas ao livro “Wings” de Aprilynne Pike, então esta estória deve receber uma classificação semelhante.Começo por dizer que a ideia base é boa, porém não foi devidamente desenvolvida. O início é demasiado confuso e as ações atropelam-se: o ritmo chega a ser frenético. Creio que a autora devia tornar a pegar na narrativa e levá-la além de uma mera estória curta, pois tem potencial para isso. Há que fazer a semente germinar de forma correcta.***************************I read "Snowy Fate" on 24th January 2012 and I give it two stars. I hate to give less than three stars, because I feel that’s devaluing the work of an author, but I must be coherent: if I gave two to the book "Wings" by Aprilynne Pike, then this story should receive a similar classification.Let me begin by saying that the idea is good, but it was not properly developed. The beginning is too confusing and actions run over themselves: the pace becomes frenetic. I think that the author should grab the narrative and take it beyond a mere short story; it has the potential to do so. Gotta make the seed germinate properly.

    Originally reviewed on Romancing the Dark Side:Never fully recovering from her father abruptly leaving when she was just a child, Aspyn Layton must face her past with her father's recent passing. She visits her father's home to deal with his estate and hoping to put the past behind her but instead finds a handsome stranger and a journal that holds long kept secrets and the truth behind her father's absence. Damon Andrews knew all about Aspyn's father's secrets and has a few of his own. He has been busy building a home and patiently awaiting the arrival of his true mate. When he meets Aspyn, he knows fate has finally brought his mate to him. He feels the attraction to Aspyn instantly, but knows that his greatest challenge will be convincing her of what she truly is, even if he has to take matters into his own hands and show her himself.Snowy Fate is a short novella with a little paranormal twist and romance. While I would have loved a little more background on the characters and a developing romance instead of an instant one, the story was short but entertaining. I hope Ms. Dobson gives us another look into the lives of Aspyn and Damon in the near future!{ebook courtesy of author for review}

    This was a very quick read, but with just a few pages, Marissa Dobson is able to get to the heart of this story. Aspyn Layton has been traumatized by the whole in her heart when her beloved father left when she was five. Now that both her mother and father have passed, she's feeling lonely and questioning her ability to be loved when her parents couldn't even it do it. Enter Damon Andrews. Damon had been staying with Aspyn's father for the remaining few months of his life, building his home and waiting for his mate. When he comes home to the Layton mountain cabin and walks in to find Aspyn there, he knows he's found his mate. The only problem, Aspyn doesn't know her family secret and Damon knows that he needs to convince her to read her father's journal before they two of them can move on.While I would have enjoyed this delving a bit more into Damon and Aspyn's budding relationship and how her change effects it, it was satisfying.

    Aspyn's father left when she was a little girl and now she has inherited his estate. To top that off, she gets stuck in a snow storm and a naked man shows up. The attraction between Aspyn and Damon is heated and very strong. Damon knows that Aspyn is his mate, he just needs to convince her. Through her father's journal, she learns the truth about herself. The problem is that the truth is hard to swallow.I thought this one was just perfect in length. There was enough background that I felt I knew the characters well and their attraction was believable. Fate has a way of making a HEA very real. I definitely recommend this one!

    Review featured on www.books-n-kisses.comThis is a very short shapeshifter story. The timeline is very fast . Damon is a shifter and Aspyn comes to her fathers home and meets up with Damon. Aspyn learns that fate is a powerful thing.I enjoyed this story very much. I just wish this story had been a bit longer. I would have loved more time with these characters. If you love having a quick read around just in case you are stuck somewhere and need a story to grab this is the one for you.Disclaimer:I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

    The plot was rushed, and all over the place. This should have been a .99 cent book. I will not be buying another kindle version from this author.
