A teacher needs a day off and makes a list of all the things she would like to do during her day off. She makes another list for the substitute to do with her class the two lists got mixed up. A cute little idea.

Substitute Teacher Plans by Doug Johnson is about a teacher who has a classroom of wild students. She decides to take a vacation day to have some alone time. She wrote a list of things for her to do on her vacation day and a list for the substitute teacher to do with the students. Unfortunately thought, she accidentally mixed up the lists. She spent the day reading, writing, and doing math while her students rode a roller coaster, scuba dove, and went to the circus. The next day when Miss Huff came back to school, she realized her mistake. She wanted to take another vacation day but her students convinced her to stay because they missed her.The pictures in this book catch the readers eye. The colors are so vivid and bright. Every page is filled from cover to cover with all different colors. This book is screaming to be read aloud to a classroom of students. The words are written small, so only the teacher would be able to read them. However, if the reader holds up the book for the audience to see, the pictures are easily understandable, even from a distance. Children like to see picture books with striking illustrations and this book hit that mark.Besides being a good book to read to students for the pictures, this would be a good book to read to students because of the concept. All the students can relate to the book because they know what it is like to have a substitute teacher. They can relate to the characters and will find it humorous that the teacher accidentally left the wrong to do list. Although substitute teachers can be fun for a day or so, eventually students tend to miss their original teacher. The ending is perfect because when the real teacher comes back to school, the students are ecstatic. This is an fun bonding book that teachers can read to their students for their enjoyment.

Super cute book! I read it with 1st - 4th graders and they all laughed at the antics and wished they had substitute plans like this! This is a fun and entertaining read all on its own, but I also used it to teach background knowledge (all of the kids know which list is the school list because they are all "experts" at what you do at school), prediction (there is one page in the book where most of the kids go "oooohhhh", so I stopped and asked why they said OoOOOhhh, what do they think will happen?), and main idea & supporting details (such an easy main idea - it's stated, and so many details explicitly stated that everyone can pick up on it). I so love it when I have great accidental finds! Found this one randomly in the library.

This book was about a teacher who accidently switched the list of things for her to do and the list of things to do for the substitute teacher. On the list she acccidently left for the substitute had a lot o fun and crazy activities. I thought this book was alright, it was not one of my favorites. The students and the substitute teacher all in one day went skiing, skydiving, built sand castles, and went to a circus. I just thought there was too much going on in the book because it kept going back to their real teacher and what she was doing.

"Substitute Teacher Plans" is a short picture book about a teacher who decides to take a day off and do what she wants. The only problem is after making her list of things she wants to do she leaves it for her substitute in her classroom. The substitute ends up following all the directions the teacher left. The kids have a lot of adventures with this substitute. I would share this with my class right before having a substitute. It's a fun and entertaining story for all ages.

This book was about a teacher that took a vacation but accidently switched her subsitute teacher plans with her vacation plans. THe entire day the teacher is taking the students through her vacation plans instead of the studies. This would be a funny story to read to the students if you are planning for a subsitute to be in the class. It would be a good review of how the children should behave with a subsitute.

Miss Huff turns in her fun list of things to do instead of her lesson plans for the substitute. She ends up following her lesson plan on her day off and enjoying time with Rudy, her cat. The kids have a memorable day of roller coasters, the beach and circus. This is a fun story to leave for a substitute.

This book would be a cute book to read a day before you have a sub. The teacher makes out lesson plans and also what fun things she is going to do when she is off. She leaves the wrong to-do list at school and the kids get to do all kinds of fun adventures while the teacher is home doing, reading, bath, and writing.

This is a great book to read to your children when you are planning to be out of the classroom for a day. The book is funny and entertaining for the children. After reading the book the students could either write or draw what activities they would like to do when a substitute is their. Judy Stallings E337

Miss Huff accidentally leaves the wrong list for the substitute teacher - and consequently the students get to do things like skydiving, and scuba diving. Fun book, but kinda portrays a normal school day as boring.

This book is funny for younger kids and is a great tool for preparing students for a substitute teacher. They can also draw or write from this prompt: what they would like to see a substitute do or what they would like to do on their own day off.

A teacher in desperate need of a vacation day makes a list of activities for herself and her substitute, however, by mistake mixes them up. This halarious book would be a great way to explain to a class that a substitute will be coming in to teach them.

Such a cute book, for teachers. I actually think teachers will get more out of than the students. It shows that what a teacher does in the classroom relates to the real world, and their job is important.

As a teacher I would share this with my students the day before a day I was going to have a substitute in my classroom. Its funny, and they would really enjoy it.

This book is so funny and relatable to teachers and students. I would love to use this as a read aloud in my classroom. The kids would love the jokes the book has and would what to do it themselves.

This book was pretty humorous. I think most ages would like it because of the funny things that happen. Older kids might not like it because it's not very realistic!
