FROM THE AUTHOR:Dangerous Memories Four years ago, U.S. Marshal Levi Cooper was assigned to protect Joseph Atkins in the Witness Security Program from the men who had killed his wife. Atkins insists Levi be introduced to his daughter as a family friend, letting Jolene believe he is out of danger so she can move forward with her life. Levi keeps the dad’s secret, but things get complicated when Jolene shares that she’d like to date Levi.Soon after, since Jolene isn’t the witness, she’s allowed to move out of town and away from protective services. Two years later, Atkins dies in an accident.Levi saves Jolene from an abduction attempt at the funeral. He whisks her away, letting her read a letter mailed to the Marshals after her father’s death. He explains he’s not just a family friend, that her father was still in the WitSec program and that there are questionable circumstances surrounding his death. He shows her the letter which states Jolene is in danger because she’d also witnessed the murder and had repressed the memories of her mother’s death. Levi wants to protect Jolene, but can’t bring her to WitSec until she’s actually a witness. At first, Jolene doesn’t want to believe, but obscure images and murky memories begin to make sense. One step ahead of those chasing them, Levi is determined to protect Jolene. Together they try to unlock her memories, discover why someone would want her family dead after all this time, and if there’s a threat from within WitSec. The longer they’re together, the easier it is to act on the feelings they denied when they’d first met.Angi Morgan

Dangerous Memories was such a great story I couldn't put it down. Intrigue at it's best, Angi Morgan has written an "edge of your seat" adventure. What Jolene doesn't remember could get her killed and the one person she thought she could trust, and may have fallen in love with, has been lying to her for four years. With danger, mystery, and romance at every turn I found myself trying to put the pieces together and wanted to warn the characters of coming danger. Five Stars All The Way!

Very good book. Besides the physical danger Jolene is in from the person who wants her dead, there is also the psychological suspense of Jo's returning memories. I really liked both Jo and Levi. She started out not wanting to believe that her nightmares were actually returning memories. When her father was killed in a suspicious accident she became the next one in danger. She hadn't known until then that Levi was also her father's contact with WITSEC not just his friend. She had started developing feelings for him and then felt deeply betrayed when she thought that she and her father were just part of Levi's job. I liked the way that she decided that she really wanted to get some answers and began to trust that Levi would keep her safe. She was also a lot stronger emotionally that she thought she was and was able to stop fighting the memories. She also stopped fighting her feelings for Levi. I also liked the way she started to take an active role in their plans rather than just going along with Levi even when it got her into trouble. I thought her plans at the end were pretty good and that she did a decent job of trying to anticipate any problems that might come up.Levi had gone above and beyond his job as a marshal. He was not supposed to get personally involved with the people he protects, but he was strongly drawn to Jo and her father. His friendship with Jo's dad led him to do some things on his own to keep an eye on Jo and try to protect her. After her father's death he went against orders in order to watch over her. He had a lot of inner conflict regarding his feelings for her and also feeling that he wasn't doing a good enough job protecting her. I loved seeing him try to fight his feelings knowing that once she went into WITSEC he would never see her again. But he also could not bear to desert her when he knew she needed him. I loved the way that he was able to help her with her memories but also was able to comfort her when she needed it. I thought he was a little too trusting of his contacts but it did all work out for him in the end.

Dangerous Memories was one of the best books I’ve read in awhile. Jolene was a child when she saw her mother’s murder. She suppressed the memories of that awful day. Her dad went into the witness protection program. She was introduced to Levi as a family friend. Her father died, and Levi shows up to her dad’s funeral. Shortly thereafter she finds out Levi was assigned her father’s case, and figures out she has been lied to for four years. This book had action, suspense, and romance. You could feel the emotions running though Jolene as she faced her life as it unraveled in just a day or two. I was touched by how much Levi cared for Jo. On some level this book was a lot like most of the books I read; where the protector felt it would be wrong to enter a relationship with the person they were protecting. On the other hand it was different. Both Levi, and Jo had felt something for four years, and was trying to deny it. When the two was faced with running from attackers, and dodging bullets and just trying to survive another day, they could no longer deny the sparks that was flying. This will be a book I will read later. I will have to read more books by this author.

So I won this book from Goodreads giveaway. :) so glad I won. Because this book is great. I love romantic suspense. I read Beverly Barton these days and it's getting boring since the plot never change. Then my capy arrived. I read it and I like it. The plot is quite refreshing for a romantic suspense. This time I didn't find mysterious psycho among friends (that storyline is too usual). I found a murder witness chased for her blurred memory. I really like the story. The suspense works. And I'll definitely add Angi Morgan to my romantic suspense favorite list.

Another excellent book from a master storyteller. Mystery and a witness with memory loss are a natural. This one had a nice twist that I didn't see coming.

Dangerous Memories was my first book by Angi Morgan and I enjoyed reading it. It is a Harlequin Intrigue book. This book surprised me because it wasn't as simplistic as many Harlequins I've read. It was a romantic suspense which is one of my favorite genres. As the title suggests, the story focuses on Jolene Atkins trying to remember what happened the day her mother was murdered. As a member of the Denver Division Witness Security Program, U.S. Marshal Levi Cooper, has promised to keep her safe. I thought this book was very entertaining. It had a lot of dangerous situations, romance, suspense, interesting characters, and determination to find answers to a decades long family mystery.

Well written, fast paced romantic suspense with lots of adventure and danger. Federal Marshall Levi Cooper and the daughter of a murdered protected witness race across the country trying avoiding hit men while heading to Texas to locate clues to who murdered her mother and probably her father. Jo had long since fallen for the man she thought was her dad’s coworker who had become a family friend, When Levi reveals his real role in her life after he father dies, she feels betrayed; she is so angry that she resists going with him. She doesn’t want to believe him when he says that her life is in danger, but when the fact that someone really is out to kidnap or kill becomes evident, it her leaves her no choice. I won this book from the author during an online book celebration. I am now a fan and have bought four other books by Angi Morgan.

In Morgan’s romantic suspense novel, Jolene Atkins was the only living witness to her mother’s murder, only she had forced the memories down so deep she had no recall of the event. After twenty years, the killer is back and U.S. Marshal Levi Cooper is sworn to serve and protect her even though he disobeys his commanding officer to do so.Levi had been close to Jolene’s father and had promised him he’d protect her. When Jolene announces that she is ready to get to the bottom of things, Levi steps up to help her. Exploring their mutual attraction forces both of them to work harder to solve the mystery of her parent’s deaths so they can discover what life holds in store for the future.Action-packed, fast-paced hard to put down suspense.

HMB books aren't usually my thing, but I liked the premise of this one so much I really wanted to read it. A nice quick read, nothing too heavy, and of course the standard happy ever after we expect from HMB! An added bonus was the mystery around why the family had been targeted for murder.

Disclaimer: Angi is a friend, but I only write reviews if I really love a book. I thoroughly enjoyed this one. Angi's strength is emotion and action, and this book has both. My favorite so far of all her Intrigues. Yay Angi!
