Absolute Crap!! If you want to read a book written without correct grammatical structure and use of words this is for you. If you want to read a book written with no understanding of the english language or grammatical structure, this is for you! The writing was so bad it was painful. The story is stupid, the sex scenes sad and the lead female character has no other qualities to recommend her except a body guys want to screw - and , oh yeh, she loves to shop. It was like being let into the mind of a teenager who has no clue that there is a bigger world than her little universe. I only read the whole thing so that I would feel justified in slamming it. I have read some crap over the years but this now takes top prize!
It was ok It was ok kinda dull and boring in some spots. The hea was forced I was not impressed. Could have been better
I started not not realising it was book two in a series, but realised that it didn't detract from the story and I easily figured out the storyline and what was going on. I felt for Elizabeth and the situation she had found herself in, and applauded her when she decided to try and change the dark situation she was in. Her old saviour Prince Ali turns up and the situation changed for her, but the threat of her old master loomed large and came back to haunt them. Devin I found to be a reprehensible character and most of the people he hung out with to be the same. Obviously this book is meant to be dark and shows a dark side of the BDSM culture, where the wants and needs of the slave were never taken into consideration until she escaped and a true master showed her how it's meant to be.There are a few instances in the book where the language and though paths confused me and seemed a bit off and were juvenile, I ended up skipping through a lot of the latter half of the book, because it didn't hold my attention well enough to give much time to it. I doubt I would class this as romance or romantic suspense as it truly has some hardcore sadism in it and some situations which may be triggers for some people
I was given this book and am voluntarily writing a review. This book is about Mary Elizabeth a girl who was looking for love from a man she lusted after for years - Devlin. He in return abuses her trust and love of him and makes her his slave. Their relationship takes slave to a new meaning and there are some very dark scenes while she is in the relationship with Devlin and his many "friends" who use and abuse Mary Elizabeth.Mary Elizabeth does meet someone whom she has true feelings for, but does not trust herself or him after her "relationship" with Devlin. While the story isn't bad I believe there is more than could have been developed. I mean Ali just appeared. And when she was kidnapped the second time why was he the first person she thought would do this for her?Mary Elizabeth's characters is somewhat one-dimensional. She is someone who ends up in a slave relationship but hopes it will change. When she chooses to leave she gets further abused. She does get her HEA but it left me a little wanting. You never want to be a slave or kept but you go back into a similar relationship after you are kidnapped for a second time. I also felt like the HEA was a little rushed. As this is the first book by this author I will probably read another book by Ms Cane.
OMG...This book caught my interest, and sent me through a whole kaleidoscope of emotions. I actually wanted to quit reading it a couple times, but it just drew me back. I had to know what would happen. It definitely shows a lot of the ways things can go very bad when safewords etc. aren't used and followed. I am happy I finished it, and I enjoyed the ending! Turned out to be a pretty good.
Taken. This book started in a dark place for Mary Elizabeth. She had become a slave to Devlin, but she didn't understand why he treated her so harsh even to the fact of sharing her with an evil man. Mary Elizabeth found a prince charming who helps her find true love in a lifestyle more fitting for her. It ended up being a good read! I voluntarily read a Review Copy of this book. All opinions stated are solely my own and no one else’s.
I really enjoyed this story. My heart went out to Mary Elizabeth at how poorly she was treated when all she really wanted was to be loved. Master Devlin was so nasty and harsh with her he really pushed the limits for a slave and master arrangement. I had to keep reading through to the end to find out what happened to her and if she found a happily ever after...don't miss out on this one!!!
Pretty goodDecent erotic suspense. I liked the mystery behind why Mary Elizabeth is Master Devlin's slave. A few weird spots where it changed from first person to third person. Overall, a good sexy read.
